SJ2695 : Sandbank north of Wallasey

taken 11 years ago, 3 km from New Brighton, Wirral, England

Sandbank north of Wallasey
Sandbank north of Wallasey
A sandbank situated 2km north of the sea wall at Wallasey, and absolutely no place to be on an incoming tide. Even when viewed at a relatively low tide, the sea has barely retreated from the sand here. The land shown here is an extension of the sandbank spur situated to the east at SJ282949 - this now extends approximately 1.5km west from the position shown on OS mapping.
